Like Facebook, people browse Twitter from mobile devices and desktops at work and at home, but it is also used during idle time, such as when traveling.

The best time to post to Twitter is Monday through Friday from noon to 2pm and 5pm for B2B companies and the click-through rate is highest on Wednesdays.

However, for B2C organizations, the best days to post are Wednesdays and weekends, when the click-through rate is highest.

LinkedIn

Professionally used LinkedIn is usually used on weekdays during business hours, just before a shift starts and just after it ends.

The best time to post on LinkedIn is Monday through Friday at 5:00 PM. until 6pm, although Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 7:30 am to 8:30 am and noon are also good times. Most clicks and promotions are registered on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

What are the best times for different niches?

There are different times worth checking out in different time slots and times to avoid.

Business to business / business to consumer

We found that there is a difference in the best times and days depending on whether you are B2B or B2C.

In other words, when you blog, you are mainly B2B, business-to-business.

But if you sell and blog about handmade products, it’s usually B2C, business-to-consumer.

Mondays and Tuesdays are best for B2B brands. But Tuesdays are great for B2C companies too.

If it’s B2C, try to post around noon EST to see people on their lunch break.

For B2B niches you have a larger window from 9 a.m. Until 2:00 PM (EST).

Product sellers

Suppose you sell products. The best times to post could be:

  • Best day: Wednesday, Friday
  • Worst day: Sunday
  • Best times: Wednesday at 1 pm and Friday at 11 am.

Avoid those hours before and after typical work times. So, don’t post before 8am or after 5pm.

Media Niches

Maybe you have a news blog or you are the media niche. The best times to post could be:

  • Best day: Wednesday
  • Worst day: Sunday
  • Best times: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5 pm, Friday from 8 am to 9 am.

Weekends are usually a bit quieter. But you can get good engagement from 8am until 10am most days.

Educational Niches

If you have an educational niche, the best times to post are:

  • Best day: Wednesday
  • Worst day: Sunday
  • Best time: 9am Wednesday, 5pm Saturday

If you blog about school events or sports, focus on the morning and evening. Remember to be on time unless there is a big event!

Technology niches

If you’re blogging about the latest technology or products, the best times to post are:

  • Best day: Wednesday
  • Worst day: Sunday
  • Best time: 9 a.m. at 12 noon Wednesday

Once it reaches 6pm each day, your audience moves onto something else. So, save posting for the next day (or post earlier!)

Financial niche

When talking about financial and product issues, the best times to post are:

  • Best day: Wednesday
  • Worst day: Saturday and Sunday
  • Best time: Wednesday afternoon

Many financial companies have standard opening hours. So posting within that time frame can mislead people. Again, once 6:00 PM rolls around, the reach of your message will likely disappear.
